Queer from the East.
Proud & Free!
Chinese-speaking queer women join Toronto pride parade for the first time
What This Means to Us
For too long, Chinese-speaking queer women have been underrepresented in Pride spaces. We want to change that.
We are creating visibility, community, and joy for Chinese-speaking LGBTQ+ women and gender-diverse folks. By marching, we’re taking up space, celebrating our culture, and standing proud—together.
Event at a Glance
- Date: June 29, 2025
- Meet Time: at 11:00 AM
- Location: Downtown Toronto (route TBA)
Wear what makes you feel powerful:
A qipao (旗袍), a pleated mamian skirt (马面裙), shorts, a suit, or just a t-shirt. Every look is a statement of Queer Power. No performances required — just your presence.
Because to show up as yourself is the point.
Our Mission
The Gal Pal Society (G.P.S.) is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive, and diverse environment for women—especially those from visible minority groups and the LGBTQ2+ community.
Our mission is to empower women, increase visibility, foster meaningful connections, and cultivate a strong sense of belonging.
G.P.S. is proud to support Chinese-speaking queer voices at Toronto Pride Parade 2025!
